Description
Modern transmission oils are not suitable for classic vehicles. That is because the requirements set for modern transmission oils are completely different from those in the past. This has to do with aspects including the use of different (modern) materials, strict requirements regarding fuel savings, longer oil change intervals and the fact that transmissions are becoming increasingly light and compact. These transmissions also have to deal with higher power levels and torques. Taken together these factors have had a strong impact on the composition and viscosity of modern transmission oil formulas.
As a result of this, modern, usually thin transmission oils are much less suitable or completely unsuitable for use in classic transmissions. Kroon-Oil has developed and tailored the complete range of Classic Oils to safely lubricate the cherished and often valuable classic vehicles despite these restrictions.
Classic Gear LS 90 is a limited slip hypoid SAE 90 transmission oil. Top quality mineral base oils and carefully selected additives give Classic Gear LS 90 the following properties:
- Excellent lubricating properties
- Very good limited slip properties, making it ideally suitable for use in controlled slip differentials.
- Good anti-corrosion properties
- Excellent EP properties
- Very good protection against wear, also with heavily jolting loads
- Compatible with classic seals and rubbers
- Good anti-foaming capacity.
Application
Classic Gear LS 90 is a special limited slip hypoid transmission oil for use in controlled slip differentials and other transmissions of classic vehicles for which a limited slip transmission oil is prescribed under the API GL-5 specification.
