Description
Reliability and the degree of comfort when changing gear are determined to a large extent by the composition of an ATF. Friction modifiers in an ATF facilitate a controlled amount of slip when changing gear, for example. The fact that completely different (modern) friction materials with completely different friction properties are used in modern automatic transmissions means that modern ATF formulas are less suitable or unsuitable for use in classic automatic transmissions. Kroon-Oil has developed and tailored the complete range of Classic Oils to safely lubricate the cherished and often valuable classic vehicles despite these restrictions.
Classic ATF A is a mineral ATF with special friction modifiers geared closely to the friction materials that were used by car manufacturers in automatic transmissions in that period. Top quality mineral base oils and carefully selected additives give Classic ATF A the following properties:
- Extremely high and stable viscosity index
- Friction properties completely adapted to work in harmony with classic friction materials
- Facilitates very supple and comfortable gear changes
- Very low coagulation point
- Very good oxidation stability
- Good anti-corrosive and anti-foaming capacity
- Compatible with classic seals and rubbers.
Application
Classic ATF A is a top quality mineral ATF for use in automatic and semi-automatic transmissions of classic vehicles for which a 'Friction Modified' ATF is prescribed under A Suffix A (ATF Type A) specifications. Classic ATF A is also suitable for use in classic power steering systems and in manual transmissions of classic Mercedes-Benz models for which an MB 236.2 specification is prescribed.
