Modern cooling systems make increasingly stringent demands on coolants. Vulnerable and expensive parts such as radiators, water pumps and seals have to last longer and longer. The life-span of the coolant itself is also becoming longer: coolants that last for the entire life-span of the engine are these days sooner the rule than the exception. Moreover, manufacturers in the automobile sector are increasingly feeling the need to distinguish themselves in order to raise their own market profile. That goes some way to explaining why more and more own-brand colour schemes and specifications are arriving on the market. In response to this trend, Kroon-Oil, working under consultation with these manufacturers, has developed its premium-quality SP (Special Product) line for coolants.
Coolant SP 11 is a premium-quality, ready-for-use Long Life coolant (frost protection – 40 °C), in which use is made of a patented nitrite, amine and phosphate-free technology with extremely powerful corrosion inhibitors. This technology means that Coolant SP 11 offers protection against corrosion for much longer than standard antifreeze qualities, so that vulnerable parts such as the radiator, water pump and seals last longer. Special additives prevent the formation of sludge and deposits in the radiator, so that optimum cooling is guaranteed, also in the long term. Coolant SP 11 is specifically designed for use in engines/radiators that are made of light metals such as aluminium, magnesium or their alloys.
Application
Coolant SP 11 is a green/blue ready-for-use coolant that has been specially developed for use in various Mercedes, BMW, Opel and Saab models. Coolant SP 11 is also suitable for use in various models of the VAG group (VW/Audi/Porsche/Seat/Skoda), for which a G11 quality is required. The use of powerful corrosion inhibitors means that Coolant SP 11 is virtually completely resistant to ageing and can be used for the entire life-span of the engine.
