The FIA Formula 3 European Championship is an important breeding ground for talented young racing drivers. Dutch racer Dennis van der Laar, sponsored by Discovery Channel, will be present in this highly regarded pan-European championship as the main partner of Van Amersfoort Racing and is confirmed as one of the drivers.

Thanks to efforts of the FIA the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is on the eve of a particularly strong season. One of the key aims of the FIA is to aid the progress of young drivers trough the ranks of junior motorsport towards an eventual drive in F1. The calendar consists of 10 events at famous European race tracks. Also Circuit Park Zandvoort will be visited during the weekend of September 28, 2013.

Van Amersfoort Racing is in the business of the preparation and logistics of this F3 adventure. The Dutch team led by Frits van Amersfoort has many years of experience and guided drivers like Jos Verstappen and Christijan Albers their way up to Formula 1. In recent years the Dutch squad scored many championships and victories in the ATS F3 Cup.

Dennis van de Laar is the first driver to be selected for the all new European F3 adventure. The driver who was born a few kilometres from the Zandvoort track debuted in Formula 3 last season with Van Amersfoort Racing. Dennis managed to score two pole positions in his rookie season. He will we accompanied by one or even two drivers this season. The team is still negotiating with multiple drivers for a racing seat.

Team owner Frits van Amersfoort:
"We are looking forward to the new season. Participation in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is the challenge my team was looking for after many years in the ATS F3 Cup. The grid is substantial and competitive, so it's going to be a real challenge. After guest appearances in the Euroseries last season we know we can be competitive."

Driver Dennis van de Laar:
"It is a great challenge for me to compete against the best F3 drivers in the world. I pick up the gauntlet and have faith in good results. Last season I learned a lot and I hope I will be able to apply this experience in the European Championship. Let the season begin!”
